Fellowship Match Code of Conduct

Each year we send out a survey to those fellows that participated in the Match cycle to get an idea of how the process went for each of them as well as look for areas of improvement. Below you will find a link to the results of this year’s survey. As you may notice, one of the major concerns that the participants had were issues with the interview process. For this reason we are planning to implement a specific date for all programs to send out the interview invites, which will hopefully help to resolve some of these concerns by making sure that each applicant knows what their options are in a timely manner.
- The application for next year’s match cycle is centralized with SF Match. You can register with the SF Match and complete your application through their website.
- All rank list information is to be submitted to SF Match, not the ASES office.
All fellowship programs require a completed application via the Central Application Service (CAS) with SF Match, a CV, a photo, and three (3) letters of recommendation. There may be additional items required by each program. These required items vary by location. Please work with the programs directly to ensure you have submitted all the required documents for that program.
Attention Applicants: In order to participate with the Orthopaedic Shoulder & Elbow Match process, you will have to register through the SF Match.
There is a $50 non-refundable applicant registration fee that covers registration and matching. This is paid directly to the SF Match. Once registered, applicants can manage their account by logging in to their account profile. To register, click on “Register” and follow the steps. The registration fee can be paid with a Visa or a MasterCard.
If you do not take this step, you will not be included in the match process. Simply sending your application materials to a program does not make you eligible to be part of the match.
There are also fees associated with the number of programs in which you will be applying. Please see the SF Match website for details.
